Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the production, remarking that he cannot recall "one day without laughter".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a distinct essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to prevent the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A legal directive put a restriction on the cases to prohibit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the probe.

The Medical Examiner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a record listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

After the killings, public personalities shared divergent responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing provocative claims that were broadly criticized by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the those speaking out last week. Talking on his show, Rogan characterized the statements as "disappointing" and implied they demonstrated a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an adviser could have acted when the decision to speak on the passing was made.
