Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane transporting Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The plane landed following established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson commented in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to Brussels at the time.
This occurrence does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has suffered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to head back to Washington after experiencing a mechanical fault.
