Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in beloved programs like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently following cancer treatment since 2022, per media reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a message.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, like:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was part of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.

Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
