The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu ends this year's campaign and plans to retain her coach into the 2026 season.
The British player advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams this year.
The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments in 2025 as a result of a health issue that has affected her for the last week and a half.
At 22 years old had planned to participate in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.
Her upcoming training are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering for the upcoming season.
Raducanu had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.
She again required a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.
Her movement was far from freely in the third set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has troubled her during parts of the season.
Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.
The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.
Raducanu won 28 matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.
The British number one reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.
She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.
The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.
The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.
She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.
The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
